Ed Jenich, a Copper Country fixture for decades, has been reappointed to the Houghton County Department of Health and Human Services Board. Each term is three years. Jenich is a gubernatorial appointment, the only one on Houghton’s respective panel. He says he is deeply honored by that, and has served in the capacity for several administrations, but he will step away soon.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been the main thrust of the board’s work since March of 2020 and Jenich doesn’t see that changing.
Jenich has served on several boards for nonprofit organizations in the Keweenaw. He was also the Mayor of Laurium at one time. His reappointment was announced on Wednesday.
