Corrigan is a feminist rhetorical scholar researching and teaching in the areas of social movement studies, the Black Power and civil rights movement, prison studies, feminist studies, the Cold War, and the history of public address.
Kirt Wilson, immediate past president of the RSA, said, "Dr. Corrigan's election to the Board of Directors for the Rhetoric Society of America will provide the Board with excellent administrative expertise and a strong vision for enhancing RSA's commitment to equity and social justice. In turn, RSA will provide Dr. Corrigan with an opportunity to extend her knowledge of rhetoric to scholarly communities in English and composition studies."
