WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Area YMCA hosted its annual meeting on Monday and officially approved its newest slate of board of directors members.
All directors are elected by nomination from the Board Development Committee and then recommended to the board of directors. The board then informs the general membership of the nominees and its intent to elect at the annual meeting.
New members elected to three-year terms are Kylie Turner and Jake Walker. Four other seats nominated to serve a second term were Randy Thompson, Jason Gerdes and Julie Lopez; one other re-elected for a one-year extension to serve as past president was Chad Nixon.
“We are thrilled to have Kylie and Jake joining us on the Worthington area YMCA Board of Directors,” Y Executive Director/CEO Meredith Daley said. “They bring a background full of experience and expertise that will greatly enhance the make-up of the Y board.
“The Y has seen many changes over the years including welcoming me to my current
position as Executive Director/CEO,” Daley added. “To have a strong Y Board of Directors is very important. I am very excited to work with the existing board along with these great new additions in the coming years.”
The continuing serving board members include Kenton Meier, Chad Cummings, America Voss, Dale Carlson, Amber Luinenburg, Heidi Meyer, Adam Blume, Bill Gordon, Mark Schreiber and Lori Dudley.
