On Saturday night, UNLV offensive lineman Justice Oluwaseun announced he would be transferring to the University of Miami for the start of the 2022 season.
The veteran offensive lineman is expected to improve the overall depth for the Hurricanes in 2021 and compete for a starting job in 2022.
So what type of player is Miami adding in Oluwaseun? A strong, physical offensive lineman that has started 21 games between left and right tackle over the past three seasons (541 left tackle snaps and 870 right tackle snaps).
According to grades from Pro Football Focus, Oluwaseun has made improvements to his game each season as a starter.
In 2020, Oluwaseun graded out with a 79.4 pass blocking grade and a 76.8 run blocking grade while playing 432 snaps as the starting right tackle. PFF credited him with allowing two sacks and nine quarterback pressures in 2020.
He graded out as the best player on a UNLV team that went 0-6 for first year head coach Marcus Arroyo.
Amongst Group of Five offensive tackles with at least 100 snaps, Oluwaseun graded out as the 19th best run blocker and the 21st best pass blocker in 2020.
During the 2019 season, Oluwaseun played two games against Power Five opponents, Northwestern and Vanderbilt.
Against Northwestern, Oluwaseun allowed four pressures and one sack in 36 pass blocking snaps at right tackle. Against Vanderbilt, Oluwaseun lined up at left tackle allowing zero sacks or pressures in 18 pass blocking snaps.
In 2019, Oluwaseun helped pave the way for UNLV running back Charles Williams to total 1,257 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Oluwaseun is familiar with Miami offensive line coach Garin Justice, who coached the offensive line at UNLV in 2018 and 2019.
Oluwaseun was rated a two-star recruit in the 2017 cycle that also had offers from Kansas State, Kansas, Tulane, North Texas, Texas Southern and Texas State.
It is fair to say Oluwaseun has outperformed his recruiting ranking out of high school—and with his addition to the group, the Hurricanes continue to add impressive depth to their offensive line.
Oluwaseun has the ability to play all five of the offensive line positions. It is hard to project where he will fit in on UM’s offensive line at this stage, but that versatility can be extremely valuable.
