TEXARKANA, Ark. — During a regular meeting Monday, the city Board of Directors will consider approving purchase three new vehicles for the Bi-State Narcotics Task Force.
The type of vehicle is unspecified, as they will be used for undercover operations. Todd Shores McClarty Ford would provide them at a cost of almost $60,500 with a 36-month lease to purchase agreement.
The Task Force is funded by federal Bureau of Justice Assistance and Drug Control Fund grants and buys new vehicles every three years, according to summary information published with the meeting's agenda.
Also on the agenda are a pair of rezoning requests. The first would rezone a tract on Oak Hollow Lane and the second would rezone land at Parker Lane and Mandeville Road. In both cases, rezoning would allow residential development.
The Board will vote by consent to approve a contract to replace a chiller at the South Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant, with Texarkana, Arkansas' portion of the cost at more than $27,400.
Another consent item would adjust the current city budget to account for more than $469,000 for road improvements on Sanderson Lane, Cherry Street and East 50th Street.
"The funding allocation is not an additional allocation request but reallocation of funds that were included in the 2020 budget and projected to be spent in 2020 but were not completely spent at year end," a summary states.
Weather caused city street crews to be unable to finish the projects last year.
The agenda includes a citizen communication time during which members of the public may address the Board on any topic for up to five minutes each.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 216 Walnut St. It will be streamed live via the city's YouTube channel.
