Chaves County Commissioner Will Cavin has been selected to represent the New Mexico Counties on the Western Interstate Region Board.
Cavin was chosen for another two-year term on the board during the NMC board of directors meeting Thursday that occurred In Ruidoso and online.
New Mexico Counties, a nonprofit that represents all 33 counties in the state, also elected new board officers and representatives to other groups.
The board members are Bernalillo County Clerk Linda Stover as president, Valencia County Commissioner Jhonathan Aragon as president-elect, Curry County Clerk Annie Hogland as vice president and Otero County Assessor Steve Boyle as past-president. Each officer will serve a one-year term.
Besides Cavin, the other people chosen to represent New Mexico Counties on other boards are Aragon, who will be a representative to the National Association of Counties, and San Miguel County Commissioner Harold Garcia, who will be the District Two representative on the New Mexico Counties executive board.
