The June meeting of the Roswell Independent School District board will include year-end wrap-ups and policy revisions.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Administrative and Educational Services Complex, 300 N. Kentucky. Due to state health orders, only board members and a small number of staff will be in attendance at the meeting. The public is encouraged to view the livestream on YouTube.
Anyone wishing to speak at the meeting must email jwhitcamp@risd.k12.nm.us by 4 p.m. Monday. Individuals asking to speak will receive a phone call during the meeting and will have three minutes to speak.
Superintendent Mike Gottlieb, in his final meeting, will give an end-of-year report. Chad Cole, assistant superintendent of finance and operations, will give a year-to-date expenditure report.
End-of-year reports will also be given by several departments, and the board will also hear information on special education services at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell.

The board will also consider approving the fiscal year 2022 operating budget, as well as bids and contracts for services. First readings for policy changes including board member compensation and expenses, student physical examination, and nondiscrimination policies will be given, while second readings will be done for policies on student dental exams, staff discipline, volunteers and student dress, among others.
Recognition will be given to student Sebastian Gonzalez, who has been named a Reading Plus state leader. Recognition will also be given to the district’s security guards; information technology staff; Jennifer Cole, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, and the instructional team; Athletic Director Britt Cooper and district coaches; and Mireya Trujillo, assistant superintendent of human resources and the HR team.
