FLINT, MI -- After two longtime Flint Community Schools board of education members Diana Wright and Vera Perry resigned earlier this week, the school district is looking to appoint two new members to its governing board.
Voters that are registered in the Flint school district are eligible to apply. Applications were physically passed out at the board’s Sept. 8 meeting. They can also be found online on the district’s website.
Applications are now being accepted and must be received no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22.
Completed applications can be sent to Executive Assistant Monaca Elston at melston@flintschools.org or delivered to the FCS Administration Building at 923 E. Kearsley St.
The board of education has 30 days to fill the vacant seats. A special meeting is scheduled for Sept. 29 for candidate interviews.
The next school board meeting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Accelerated Learning Academy at 1602 S. Averill Avenue.
