The Ocala Civic Theatre has a new board of directors for the upcoming season.
The board was voted in at the annual meeting on July 14. The new president is Laurie Zink, development and community outreach director at the Florida Institute of Human and Machine Cognition. Zink also is an emeritus board member of Marion Cultural Alliance and the chairman of Horse Fever 20/20.
“I am honored to have been selected as the president of the Ocala Civic Theatre board of directors for this upcoming year,” said Zink. “These are challenging times for the performing arts, but with creativity, passion and flexibility, we will offer an experience that is safe, inspiring and uplifting – something we always need, and particularly now!
“Having been a season ticket holder for over 20 years, and a volunteer for many of those years, I know firsthand the impact Ocala Civic Theatre has on our community. I look forward to working with the board, staff and volunteers as a collective force, supporting and sustaining a very bright future.”
The new vice president is James Hilty, the secretary is Darrell Riley and the treasurer is Jackie Eastman. Immediate Past President George Kirkland will continue to serve on the board.
New members Jeanne Henningsen and Melissa Nadenik have joined the board this year. Remaining members are Dr. Glenda Belote, Todd Duffy, Dave Schlenker, Dr. Gordon Schwenk and Dr. Ed Stewart.
