UPDATE AUGUST 10th: One of the candidates has indicated that he can not attend so this event is cancelled for now. I will look to reschedule it again in the future if that is possible. I will be talking to the candidates in the other 4 districts for debate dates.
Candidates running for Howard County Board of Education in District 3 (Jolene Mosley and Tom Heffner) in 2020 will join Scott E’s Blog for a candidate forum / debate on August 15th at 10:00am. This debate will be live streamed on Scott E’s Blog Facebook page. I started this series of forums / debates with District 3 because that is the district I reside in so this race is of great interest to me.

If you have questions you would like asked during the event…feel free to send them to me via email at (scott@scotteblog.com) and one or more may be used in this event. Please send me questions that I can ask both candidates to answer.
My current idea for the format for the forums / debates for the General Election:
Opening statements by the candidates (3 minutes)
4 or 5 questions for the candidates.

- Candidates will each get 2 minutes to answer the questions
- Candidates will be provided 1 minute rebuttal to each question
- The order of who answers first will change for each question – first question order will be decide by coin flip before the start of the event
Closing statements for the candidates (3 minutes)
*Note – no rebuttal time will be allocated for the opening or closing statements.
My goal is to have these events run around 45 minutes and last no longer than one hour.

I have reached out (via email) to candidates in District 2 and District 1 to schedule those events. I am waiting to hear back from all of the candidates to finalize the dates and times.
I will be reaching out to candidates in District 4 and District 5 in the near future to schedule those events.
