MIDDLETOWN, NJ - New Board members are joining Mater Dei Prep in Middletown, and they bring a vast skill set from the business, healthcare and legal community.
According to a recent news release, there are three new board members.
"Mater Dei Prep’s Board of Trustees is made up of professional members affiliated with the school who guide, advise and consult with the school operating personnel. The Board of Trustees facilitates, oversees and contributes to the overall functionality and management of the school, while preserving its strong Catholic identity. Mater Dei Prep selects members of the Board based on their passion for the Seraph students’ experience and willingness to serve in line with the Board’s mission and strategy." The release stated.
Kathryn McLaughlin, Chair of the Board of Trustees, welcomed the following new members on behalf of the Board:
Carolyn Broderick Huntington (P ‘21, P ‘23), Paul Fisher (P ‘23), Christina Hardman-O’Neal (MD ‘89, P ‘22) and Meg Mindell (P ‘21) have all been appointed as Board of Trustees Members. Ms. McLaughlin, noted, “The Board is comprised of an exceptional and dedicated roster of individuals. These four new members each bring unique capabilities to the Board and will add depth and strength in key strategic areas and contribute to the achievement of Mater Dei’s core mission.”
Carolyn Broderick Huntington, MA, SPHR, HRIP, SHRM–SCP, is a Senior HRIS Analyst at Mount Sinai Health System in New York, NY and has 30 years of HR experience in the healthcare, biotech and financial services industries. Ms. Broderick led the Human Resources Committee during the founding of the independent school. Her background in Human Resources is what made her a great candidate to lead the initiative. Ms. Broderick is currently the Chair of Mater Dei Prep’s Nominating Committee, a member of the Board Development Committee and a member of the Women’s Leadership Initiative for the school.
Paul Fisher is Associate Chief Information Officer and Director of the Teaching, Learning and Technology Center at Seton Hall University. In these roles, Mr. Fisher is responsible for supporting faculty in the use and integration of technology into the curriculum, and has contributed his expertise in instructional technology to strengthen and support Mater Dei Prep. Since 2015, Mr. Fisher has chaired the Technology Committee and has continued to lead other technology projects at the school. In addition to joining the Board of Trustees, he remains the current Chair of the Board Technology Committee for Mater Dei Prep.
Christina Hardman-O’Neal, Esq. is a Partner at the law firm of Davison Eastman Muñoz Paone, P.A. in Freehold. Ms. Hardman-O’Neal is a past Trustee of the Seraph Fund initiative which was a multiyear fundraising project for Mater Dei Prep. She has been involved in many initiatives and events at Mater Dei Prep. In addition to her role as a member of the Board of Trustees, she is a member of the Legal Committee and the Development Committee. She is also a member of the Women’s Leadership Initiative at the school.
Meg Mindell, LCSW is the Owner and Executive Director of Halcyon Elder Care, LLC in Belford, NJ and has been for the past 20 years. As a licensed Clinical Social Worker, Ms. Mindell brings valuable healthcare expertise and insights to the Board of Trustees. She has agreed to serve as an advisor to the COVID-19 and Academic Task Forces, and will be able to provide a valuable perspective in preparing for a response to the COVID-19 challenges. Ms. Mindell will also assist the Mater Dei Prep Board in supporting its students, and the community by providing relevant and up to date health guidance.
Ms. McLaughlin concluded, “I also wish to express the sincere gratitude of the Board of Trustees and the Mater Dei Prep community for the commitment and dedication of Tamara Linde, Esq. and Ryan Lino, two departing members. We are sorry to see them depart the Board, but thank them for their contributions and the marks they each made during their time with the Board.” With these new members elected for the upcoming year, Mater Dei Prep will continue to be well prepared for current initiatives as well as for executing the long term strategic plan for the school.
