What you’re looking at is the Bugatti 35 Type D and while it isn’t coming to the streets, it shows what a modern-day interpretation of the iconic Type 35 could look like.

The car was created by a German company named Uedelhoven Studios that has recently been involved in the design of the Hyundai Prophecy and 45 concepts, as well as the 2019 Audi AI:ME. The Bugatti 35 Type D was designed back in 2015 and has now been shown to the world for the very first time.

Similarities between this and the original Bugatti Type 35 are obvious thanks to its overall shape and the fact that it is also an open-wheeler. Up front there’s is a massive horseshoe grille that sits alongside a set of carbon fiber fins to help with downforce.

A look at the sides highlights many of the key differences from vehicles of the 1920s to those of the modern age. For example, the wheels and tires are much wider and there are also carbon fiber skirts. These aerodynamic elements continue at the rear with a prominent carbon diffuser that helps stick the car to the pavement.

Finally, the interior features tan-colored leather across the seats, door panels, transmission tunnel and steering wheel, as well as carbon fiber trim and a wooden gear selector.
