HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - The Hasbrouck Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce nominated its Executive Board during the final meeting of 2020 on Wednesday morning.
Current board members were all nominated and accepted the appointments for the 2021 year. Ray Vorisek, President; David Meredith, Vice President, Gary Doran, Secretary, and Peter Gallo, Treasurer, will all return to their current positions.
Vorisek reflected on 2020 and noted it was particularly difficult for small businesses due to the coronavirus pandemic and temporary shutdown earlier in the year. He said the organization "did a pretty good job promoting local businesses" with the Shop Local, Support Local campaign. He also said "Music on the Boulevard" returned this year, piping holiday music along the Boulevard to add to shoppers' holiday spirit.
Looking ahead to 2021, the group is in discussions to bring back the Street Fair, Farmer's Market, and Holiday Parade, pending governmental guidance for hosting events.
The Hasbrouck Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce meets the first Wednesday of every month. Meetings have been virtual for most of the year. For more information, visit the Chamber's website. It sponsors several town-wide events throughout the year including the annual Street Fair, Taste of Hasbrouck Heights, and Holiday Parade.
