San Francisco teens can apply to be part of San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency's newly created Youth Advisory Board.
The agency's first youth-centered community advisory board aims to include San Francisco youth in discussions about transportation.
Teens between 14 and 18 can apply for the board online by noon on Monday, Jan. 8, SFMTA officials said.
Applicants of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, regardless of work experience or academic standing.
"We encourage all youth that love their city want to improve the lives of our residents, especially historical and presently marginalized communities to apply," SFMTA Director of Transportation Jeffrey Tumlin said in a statement. "We are excited to create an inclusive board of that represents the diverse identities, backgrounds and experiences of San Francisco youth."
Board meetings will take place twice a month and members will assess and recommend city transportation policies, programs and projects to the SFMTA.
