BECKLEY W. VA. (WVVA) - The New River Gorge Regional Development Authority has welcomed three new board members.
Those individuals include Raleigh County Commissioner Greg Duckworth, and Summers County Commissioner Ted Kula, and private sector member Heather Johnson from River Expeditions in Fayette County.
Jina Belcher, the Executive Director of the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority, said the board's job is to find funding for new projects and this year one of the goals is to expand the outdoor economy.
"The most important [thing] moving into 2021 is one of our strategic focus areas, is how we plan to capitalize on the new national park designation so we'll be working directly with our board members on potential projects that will impact the four county region as a result of that designation," said Belcher.
Belcher added, having a representative from each county will allow each of them to benefit from this distinction.
