CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities (BOPU) is aware of various power outages throughout Cheyenne and the surrounding area, including at the Sherard Water Treatment plant which is currently running on its back-up power system. The BOPU has planned and prepared for this type of situation and wants to reassure resident’s there is an ample amount of stored water available to sustain the City’s water supply needs. The Sherard Water Treatment plant staff is also working closely with the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) for plowing efforts to retrieve additional supply of diesel fuel in the event it is needed.
The City’s water supply is always a top priority for the BOPU, and we will remain diligent in keeping the water on for all of Cheyenne’s residents during any and all emergency situations.
