The Twenty-Five Mile Fire burning off south Lake Chelan has grown to 9,800 acres and continues to threaten 772 structures.
Level 3 evacuation notices remain in place for a large area near the wildfire, which broke out Sunday afternoon.
The Southwest Area Type 1 Incident Management Team began arriving today and will soon assume control of the firefighting effort, the U.S. Forest Service said today.
Firefighting has been coordinated by a Type 3 team since Monday.
Type 3 teams are usually assigned to initial attacks on fires, while Type 1 teams are typically brought in for large-scale and/or complex wildfires.
Crews on the fire today reported moderate fire behavior with the possibility of high winds and gusts increasing fire activity.
Crews today are working on constructing and maintain containment lines, the incident management team said, adding that the fire may continue to move to the south and east.
The evacuation notices currently in place for the fire are:
Level 3: (Go Now) For all properties north of Cove Marina on South Lakeshore Road, the area of Granite Falls Road and First Creek Road west of Lakeshore. Lakeshore Road is closed from Cove Marina north past the Twentyfive Mile drainage.
Level 2: (Get Set) South from Cove Marina to Morning Sun Drive.
Level 1: (Get Ready) Lakeshore Road south of Granite Falls area.
