SCHNEIDER SPRINGS UPDATE
Pacific Northwest Team 2, a Type 1 Incident Management Team assumed command of the 67, 527 acre Schneider Springs Fire burning 20 miles NW of Naches on Sunday. The fire started by lightning Aug. 3rd and is 3% contained About 517 personnel are assigned to the fire
A structure protection group has been added to coordinate with local fire districts around the area to focus on the structure protection plan for properties along Highway 410 and US 12.
Three heavy helicopters, one medium and one light helicopter are assigned to cooling hot spots as fire is expected to pick up due to gusty winds on Sunday.
Current Evacuations:
LEVEL 3: Bumping River Road from north to south; Hwy 410 from Bumping River Road to U.S. Route 12.
LEVEL 2: From U.S. 12 at Hwy 410 west to Tieton Reservoir Road
CEDAR CREEK, CUB CREEK 2, DELANCY FIRE UPDATE
Mop up continues and repair work to the damaged landscape has on the the Cedar Creek, Cub Creek 2, and Delancy Fires burning on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest and some public and private lands in Okanogan County.
The Cedar Creek Fire is 55,137 acres and increased containment from 55% to 70% with favorable weather conditions. Crews are continuing to mop up, secure and hold lines Fire suppression repair efforts continue to increase healthy habitat, reduce runoff and debris flows, and help rehab the burned area.
Cub Creek 2 Fire has reached 70,154 acres and 70% contained. Fire crews continue to mop up and control to ensure the fire stays inside the control lines. Suppression repair continues on repairing the roads used to access the fire. Fire activity has slowed but there are still active hot spots within the interior.
The 223 acre Delancy Fire is at 95% containment.
All evacuations have been downgraded to a Level 1 status.
