Devil Fruits are the most incredible form of power in the One Piece world. These fruits grant great power to those who eat them in exchange for their ability to swim. The powers offered can belong to the Paramecia types, Zoan types, and the rarest type of them all, the Logia ones.

Although there are only three main types of Devil Fruits in One Piece, they can further be categorized into a bunch of subtypes, making a total of 7 classes and all of them are unique in their own way.

7 Paramecia Type

The Paramecia type of Devil Fruits offers a wide variety of powers, and most of the time, they allow the user to produce a certain substance from their body or manipulate a certain thing in their surroundings.

There are also a few Paramecia type Devil Fruits that allow the user to become the substance itself, such as Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Mi, which has completely turned his body into rubber. There is no limit to how diverse the powers of the Paramecia types are, and they're also the most common Devil Fruit class in One Piece.

6 Zoan Types

Zoan types are certain fruits that grant the powers of animals to those who eat them. These fruits offer quite a great power-up to the users, especially in terms of fighting prowess. As expected, those who gain animalistic powers also get the ability to recover quicker and attack better.

Each Zoan type is known to have three forms, a human form, a beast form, and a human-beast form or the hybrid form. It is believed that the hybrid form is the best when it comes to combat and Zoans are especially useful when it comes to fighting others in close proximity. Without a doubt, their physical powers are unmatched as is their tenacity.

5 Logia Types

The Logia type Devil Fruit users are quite special and are the rarest of the three main classes of Devil Fruit. They offer the user the ability to become an element or a force of nature, along with the power to manipulate the said element itself. An example of the Logia types would be Portgas D. Ace's Mera Mera no Mi which turned him into fire itself and gave him the power to manipulate it freely.

Logia types are often deemed to be invincible in the Paradise half of the Grand Line, however, the New World views them in a different light altogether. Regardless, they offer tremendous power that can hardly be matched by the other two types in the story.

4 Artificial Zoans

Artificial Zoans are Zoan type Devil Fruits that are created by humans, specifically by the likes of Caesar Clown and Dr. Vegapunk. These Devil Fruits have been seen on a few occasions in the series and most of the fruits that belong to this category are SMILEs that, if successful, turn a body part of the eater into an animal.

Drm Vegapunk also created an Artificial Devil Fruit that was eaten by Momonosuke and this fruit turned him into a dragon.

3 Ancient Zoans

A subclass of the Zoan type, Ancient Zoans are Devil Fruits that turn their eater into an Ancient creature, such as a dinosaur. These Devil Fruits are quite rare and are considered special even among the Zoan types.

As expected of the Ancient Zoans, they have tremendous power and durability. Everything that a regular Zoan does, an Ancient Zoan can do better. Among the Ancient Zoans, the ones that are Carnivorous creatures are considered to be even more dangerous as they get extra powerful when they are bloodthirsty, such as Page One of the Tobiroppo. Wano Country has introduced fans to quite a lot of Ancient Zoans.

2 Mythical Zoans

The rarest type of Zoans and fruits that are considered to be even rarer than the Logia types, Mythical Zoans turn their eaters into Mythical creatures. These Mythical creatures are quite powerful, such as Sengoku's Buddha, Marco's Phoenix, and Kaido's Dragon among others.

Apart from allowing the user to turn into these creatures and their hybrids, Mythical Zoans also offer special abilities that are quite intriguing, to say the least. Marco has the ability to use flames of rebirth which allow him to heal from any injury while Sengoku has the power to produce shockwaves at will.

1 Special Paramecia

Special Paramecia is a subclass of the Paramecia type of Devil Fruits and as the name suggests, they're quite special indeed. So far, only one Special Paramecia has popped up in the series and that is Charlotte Katakuri's Mochi Mochi no Mi. Despite being a Paramecia type, his fruit allows him to become Mochi itself and gain intangibility like that of a Logia type, which sets it apart from the rest.

Special Paramecia is a class that Oda might dive into later on, however, for now, informed on this class is quite limited. Nonetheless, it is quite powerful, as demonstrated by its only user during the Whole Cake Island arc.
