When putting together a team of seven Pokémon, many trainers like to pick Pokémon with either the fewest defensive weaknesses or Pokémon with the most type resistances. Pokémon with more type resistances take reduced damage from many different types of moves.

Steel-type Pokémon generally have the most resistances out of all of the Pokémon types, and the Pokémon with the most type resistances are all at least part Steel-type. The most resistances a Pokémon can have is 11 resistances. The top 10 Pokémon with the most type resistances have 8 to 11 resistances and at least 1 immunity. Alolan Marowak falls just short of this list with a total of 7 resistances and 2 immunities, being the only Pokémon with so many resistances that isn't a Steel-type.

1 Magnemite/Magneton/Magnezone Are Steel And Electric-Types With 11 Resistances and 1 Immunity

Magnemite, Magneton, and Magnezone are the Pokémon that have the most resistances, meaning 12 different types of Pokémon will do little to no damage to them. Their bodies are made entirely of steel, but they are able to generate magnetism.

These three Pokémon are resistant to Normal, Flying, Rock, Bug, Steel, Grass, Electric, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, And Fairy-types. They are immune to Poison-type moves.
