However, many players are now discovering they can't type when playing the game anymore. Here's why this issue occurs and how to fix it.

The newest update added in a lot of cool features to Among Us, and developer InnerSloth is already planning its next update, which will include color changes, 15-player lobbies, and a revamped art style. In the meantime, players around the globe are getting to play in the new Airship map and discovering some of the latest in-game changes for themselves. One of the issues that many players are reporting involves not being able to type in the chat anymore.

There's actually a very good reason for this. When the Airship update arrived, it also included a new account system for Among Us. Signing up for an account is completely free, but it's also entirely optional. Instead, users can play the game in Guest Mode and avoid registering with an account altogether. However, this is the main reason players can no longer type in the chat when playing Among Us.

How To Fix Among Us' Typing In Chat Problem

For any users playing Among Us in Guest Mode, typing in chat is inaccessible. Instead, they'll have to communicate by using the new Quickchat wheel, which features a long list of pre-generated responses, questions, and more. Alternatively, users who sign up for an account but are under the age of 13 will also have to use the Quickchat wheel as an added safety measure. So, if players aren't able to type in Among Us anymore, this is why.

Thankfully, there's a fairly easy fix for players over the age of 13 who don't want to use Among Us' Quickchat feature. In order to start typing in the chat again, users will just need to create a free account, sign in, and use it when playing the game. This will allow typing in chat once more - and for players who prefer Quickchat but have an account, they can easily keep that new feature as an option, too.

While a big focus of Among Us' latest update was on the Airship, some of the smaller details (like the account system) may have gotten overlooked by fans. Thankfully, being able to type in the chat in Among Us is a pretty simple fix and is a completely free option for users over the age of 13.
