"There is no one else in the world who can say he has succeeded as the CEO of an international cultural heritage preservation organization, produced television news shows, run a learned society, published the largest humanities publication in the world, and helped start an NGO that combats cultural racketeering globally," said Christopher Oldham, executive director of Park-McCullough.

Herdrich served at the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA), first as a board member, and then as chief executive officer. He was also publisher of the AIA's bimonthly periodical, Archaeology. Earlier, he worked at the Paley Center for Media as director of industry programs and prior to that enjoyed long success as a an award-winning television news producer.
